Hamid Djodeiri
Khodashenas was born in 1963 in
Tehran,
Iran.
He is lawyer and an active eclipse chaser since
1999. His deep passion to observing eclipses of
the sun led him to found the first Iranian eclipse
chasers group (www.shadow-chasers.net) called
Sayeh (shadow in Farsi), where would be a place to
promote interest in solar eclipse observation
among Iranian amateur astronomers also other
astronomical activities.
He has observed 1999
totality from remote Lake of Gahar in Iran (9
hours film) and 2001 totality from Zimbabwe (6
hours film), 2003 totality from Antarctica (70
hours film) and 2005 totality from the Pacific
Ocean (36 hours film) and he has paid to produce
documentaries in all his eclipse trips without any
governmental support.
Being in all these trips
and experiencing the nature of different points of
the world made him a great fan of photography of
the nature. Also his photos have been exposed in
several photo exhibitions in
Iran.
He has taken over 8000 solar eclipse and nature
photos in his expeditions to Antarctica and
Pacific
Ocean.
Doing these activities
all he has tried to bring science and art together
in order to display them more
interesting.
